*Didn't Shockwave kill Metalclaw in Eons Ago?
- Not entirely correctly. Ch. 9 "The scientist from long ago", where Steve tells Starscream about Shockwaves and Steelminds background story isn't a 100% told correctly. He speaks out of the memories of being Skyfires incarnation, and the memories isn't correct storywise. Steve only got Skyfires Spark, not his processor. He can only feel what Skyfire felt about certain moments and talk about that. Shockwaves background is something Skyfire kept deep in his Spark since he didn't like him.
-In ch. 12 "Starstruck", we get to see Metalclaw and Shockwave talk for the first time, and it was hinted already in ch.9 that they have a connection to each other with Metalclaw being one of Shockwaves many admirers. This isn't entirely true either. Once again, how could Skyfire know about this? He hardly knows either Shockwave or Steelmind well enough to know such a thing. And for Steve to tell one of Metalclaws memories? No, it's not possible.

*But Shockwave and Metalclaw WAS supposed to marry, right?
- Yes. From the beginning, my friend adry2 were the actual owner of Metalclaw and Steelmind. She came up with the idea of Metalclaw being a overly attached admirer by Shockwave- who he lately kills and falls for Steelmind instead. As she let me adopt her characters, I managed to tie her old storyline into my new one. Now, in "Before I became you", Metalclaw is Steelminds  older brother, when he was still a Seeker.

*So Metalclaw is nice now? Not the douche he was in Eons Ago?
-Technically he wasn't ever a douche. It was Steve's way of tell his version of Metalclaw that was a douche. And Adry said he was a aft

Wait- you call Steelmind "Steel" in this series...?
- His given birth-name is Steel.
