TFP ep.25 Regeneration-review

Or, TFP ep. 25- Shits getting real in season 3



I guess you've all heard the news on this episode... Dreadwing has gone to the Well of Allspark. So I'm going to do a little quick review on about what happen to him. YUKIONI STYLE.

The episode stars of with OH HAI THERE KIDZ, HAVEN'T SEEN YOU IN A FEW EPISODES, OH I SURE HAVEN'T MISSED YOU GUYS AT ALL a little meeting at the Autobot HQ, where we gets informed about the Bots plans for reinvent Cybertron. The issue here is that 1, Miko thinks she can join without dying in space, and 2, they don't posses the  Omega keys anymore thanks to Starscreams little events in the previous episodes. Suddenly, a signal pops up on the screen and it shows on Dreadwing.

As the Autobots meets up with him at his location, he turns over the Forge of.... uuh... Solus...Prime? ....Anyway, the gigantic hammer, without any intentions to fight. He's the never ending noble kind of mech you hardly come across in the Transformers universe. He's what I'd like to call one of a kind. His personality would've been so great to follow as it develops, but sadly, we don't get to see it. Anyway, I kind of want to show you what happened, instead of just writing it.

As Dreadwing hands over the Hammer, he want nothing in return, only that Optimus uses it wisely.


When Optimus asks him to join with the Autobots instead, Dreadwing answers in the most polite way I've ever seen a Decepticon do.

When he gets back to The Nemesis, he's greeted with Megatron who asks him where he has been. It's clear that Megatron doesn't want his SiC to go on a rampage because of what Starscream did to his twin, because he wants the Decepticons to stand strong. He even tells him to try and look between his digits on what Starscream did.


But look at the way Dreadwing reacts to Megatron.
The first time I watched this episode, I felt something chilly and wrong about this particualy scene when they talked. I don't think Megatron had in mind what was going to happen, but I got a hunch that Dreadwing wasn't honest with Megatron when he speaks to him about Starscream. He wants to reach out to "our comrade personally"? How couldn't Megatron see that something was wrong here? Or did he?

We skip scenes to see Screamy at the medbay with Knocky yaaay finally, ScreamKnock is back together<3, where his T-Cog finaly has been restored. Not that I know how KO got hold of a T-Cog just like that, since the Autobots had such trouble with fixing one for Bee, so I'll just assume that a poor Eridaicon was killed in the attempt to give Screamy back the ability to fly. But just as he's done with his little cheering, Dreadwing comes to ruin the party. He fires his gigantic cannon at him and accuses him of taking his twins life, telling him that he'll have to pay with his own Spark for that awful deed. Sounds fair, doesn't it?
Even if this scene is supposed to be shocking and have the "OH NOOOO"-effect, it's hilarious that Knocky dashes off and ignores Screamys cries for help.



Now, koch43 did a funny picture of this scene, fav.me/d5j2l3e , but I couldn't help but starting a discussion about whenever Knocky actually would get help for Screamy or not. chibigingi had some good thoughts on this, and I quote from her comment;

"It'd fit his personality. Him abandoning Starscream to fetch someone who could stop Dreadwing (because 1, KO isn't risking his neck for anyone besides himself, and 2, especially when he knows that there's nothing he can say or do to stop Dreadwing). Running to tell 'teacher' would be fitting, but like koch43 said, it's also likely that he ran and Megs overheard. Though, from the preview clip, we haven't seen if Megs told KO to keep those two separated or if KO himself, who we know has seen the event playing out, took it upon himself to know that the two needed to be separated.TL;DR It could go either way. KO not returning with Megs doesn't necessarily mean he didn't go tell Megs. He could easily be waiting for the situation to calm down before popping up in the medlabs again."

Either way, just as Dreadwing is about to blast Screamy, he's interrupted by Megatron who's suddenly arrived at the scene.

As Dreadwing refuses, I saw a pattern form inside my little fangirlish head.


Even when Megatron orders him to stand down and not kill Scream, Dreadwing raises his sword yet again to kill Scream, and gets killed by his actions. And thus, the end of Dreadwing.

Now, I know we all have a looot of questions, sorrows and emotions going around about his death, but I don't see why we should get so worked up about it. It's clear that Dreadwing wasn't pleased with Megatrons decision on bringing Starscream back on the team, he's lost all his thoughts on his brother dying in a honorable way, and he wasn't sure he wanted to support the Decepticon cause anymore. As I see it, he planned on getting himself killed in a honorable way, thus by his masters hand. He was that loyal to Megatron. I think he decided that he was going that way when he got back to the Nemesis and was greeted with Megatron in the beginning of the episode.

Now, I know some of you might disagree with me, some agreeing with me, wither way, our dear Dreadwing has now become... a lifeless husk. I'm sorry, but I just had to, it was HIS standup line!

Ahem, to the rest of the episode.
*Starscreams back in business, he's now restored his ranks as a SiC to Megatron, and he seems utterly surprised by it. Like he didn't think Megatron would let him be his SiC again. I mean, why not just upgrade Soundwave as his SiC? That would at least make some sense.

*Knocky and Starscream is back as a hilarious duo, fidgeting and fighting, aaaand solving problems regarding the series plot

*The Autobots creates a Space Bridge to Cybertron, and Optimus creates an EVEN BIGGER SWORD than the last time Honestly, when Wifey and I saw the episode for the first time, she was all like "Someone sure has a penis complex..."

*Whenever Smokescreen is on sceen with Megatron, he always reacts shocked. Anyone else noticed? No? Yes? Either way, it's hilarious how shocked Meg can look. And speaking of Smokescreen... I know many have some kind of hate/love towards him. I've always thought he was a cute but annoying rookie, but after what he suddenly did in this episode, I was all like "AAAAH, EXCUSE ME!? MAYBE YOU SHOULD JOIN WITH THE DECEPTICONS, BRO??" I mean, for f-sake! He literally takes the Sparks of 10-12 Eridaicons in a coldblooded way and makes it into a funny thing?? Not even the Decepticons would be THAT cold.

*The episode flows on with nothing else but victory for the Autobots as they roam their way at Cyertron, and Megatron gets more and more desperate. It's always fun to witness his panicking. When he reports back to the Nemesis for backup, he's met by a rather sneaky answer from Starscream about the backup. And YES, in that instant, we ALL thought "Oh, heeere we go again, Screamy is horny for powers again!",  but he actually came up with a plan. Or rather, it was Soundwaves idea, and Starscream just had to tell Meg about it.


The kids have been kidnapped and taken in custody. Oh. It's amazing how little I actually....

Frankly, I was SO mad at the kids on this episode. They were like spoiled little brats! As the Autobots are out on their biggest mission ever, restoring their home planet, they have the urge to dial and ask for pickup from school?And be really bratty about it?? THEY WAITED AN WHOLE HOUR FOR PICKUP!? Just WALK home, already! Okay, to be fair, the kids didn't know about the mission, but... how spoiled can one be?? They knew that the Autobots were hot on the lead when it came to restoring Cybertron, so how can they suddenly assume that they would be surely picked up from school? I love Miko, but that just pissed me off.

So the next episode is going to be the last one for this season, and I can't WAIT to see season 3 of TFP. I mean, just LOOK AT THE PLOT. Shockwave is back, WITH A FUNCTIONING OPTIC, Dinobots have entered the show and Starscream is back by Megatrons side. And I kind of want to see that season taking place at Cybertron, and not on Earth. It would be so awesome to have a change in worlds. Now, all we can do is wait for next weeks last episode of this season, and AIN'T IT GOING TO BE AWESOME.
